We're on a mission to help every law firm on the planet achieve efficient operations and generate revenue. You love the law, so do the law. Let us help you make more money than you thought possible by being your right hand. We will make your back office hum so you can sing!
We work one-on-one with you to achieve your goals, not ours.
Your Map to the Future
You know where you are now. Do you know where you want to be? How are you going to get there and who's going to hold you accountable?
Financial Statement Analysis - Know what you are generating and spending each month, discover key metrics and make better business decisions.
Budgeting - An important aspect of profitability is having a proper budget in place that allows you to meet your objectives.
Bookkeeping - Paying high fees for bookkeeping services? Allow us to help as part of our service offering.
Billing - Nothing destroys the cash pipeline like poor billing practices. As industry experts, we can ensure your billing practices are generating revenue.
Collections - You can't measure what you don't have - cash. Without a system in place, your income will dry up and your bank account won't have enough cash.
Back Office Operations
From Amlaw 200 to You
Yes, we have done this before. Your firm is unique to you, but efficiency and revenue generation are not! Let's get your firm's administration operating so that it's only an afterthought, not your entire day's thought!
Strategic Planning - Gap analysis allows us to evaluate where you and versus where you want to be. We help fill the gap.
Process Improvement - No more late deliverables and disappointed clients. We have proven project management processes.
Operational analysis - We measure your current situation and implement processes to have you achieve your goals.
KPI and Metric Reporting - Key Performance Indicators allow us to measure your firm's performance
Uncovering the People Side
They are not employees, they are people. We'll help you manage your most important assets - your team!
Policies and Procedures - Without a handbook, or general work rules, a firm is exposing itself to employment-related lawsuits. We craft policies to protect your firm now and well into the future.
Performance Management - A culture of great employees comes from a culture of continuous improvement. We will help you develop a performance management system that aligns with your strategic goals.
Employment Law Compliance - Lawyers make mistakes by feeling as if they know employment law. Not all attorneys know the nuances of employment laws. Our experts know the ins and outs and protect your firm from potential litigation.
Payroll - Let us free up your time and manage your payroll for you.
Benefits Administration - All benefit brokers are different. We work with your brokers to craft a benefits package designed to attract and retain top talent, without breaking the bank.
Level Playing Field
Now You Can Compete
Now is the time to utilize your resources and compete with large firms directly. The one important aspect of legal management is that a trusted administrator levels the playing field, making it possible for everyone to compete on the grand stage!
Who We Are
We're on a mission to run your law firm with peace of mind.
John M. Jakovenko
CLM, MAC, MBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP
John is a leading expert on all things business of law. Since 2006, John has devoted his career to law firm management working with firms of all sizes and in various states. He also teaches the Association of Legal Administrators Business of Law HR courses as well as the HR section of the Legal Management Fundamentals course, helping new administrators navigate their first five years in law firms.
Stephanie F. Lewis
Stephanie’s management career began at a small marketing research firm owned by two behavioral psychologists in the Philadelphia area. In that role, she was responsible for operations, HR, IT and Finance, and learned quite a bit about human behavior (i.e. matching rapport and how to adapt to different personality traits/motivations). Those experiences shaped the core of her management toolkit as she pivoted to supporting smaller, mid-size law firms with multiple offices across multiple states. Over the next 20 years, Stephanie would evolve into a deeply invested COO & consultant.
Andrew is a seasoned business and people operations
professional with over sixteen years of leadership experience in government, non-profit, and for-profit sectors. He has managed large multi-state organizations down to local businesses and knows that each comes with its own unique challenges. His responsibilities have included finance, marketing, human resources, IT, quality assurance, facilities, and project management. He is a retired Navy Veteran with an honorable discharge after 20 years of service and holds master's degrees in Public Administration and Human Resource Management.
WHO WE ARE NOT
We are your trusted advisor and law firm operations specialists. We are not administrative assistants helping you accomplish menial tasks. We help firms excel through systems, talent, and sound leadership. Common client requests can be summarized below.
"We already have a bunch of processes and procedures in place, I need you to work on this project."
Would you hire a plumber and tell them how to fix your leaky faucet?
While you might have the same tools in your garage as a plumber has in their bag, they are specialists designed to solve common plumbing problems. You're not a plumber, so why continue to try to be one?
"I know you said it takes a few months to get the firm humming, but can you just get it done this week?"
Do you fly on airplanes and tell the pilot you'd like to be at your destination in only one hour, despite it being a four-hour flight?
Proven processes that have worked for thousands of firms can't be rushed and experience the same success. Enjoy your flight!
"We just need this fixed ASAP. What did [insert law firm name here] do to fix everything?"
Sometimes an injury requires surgery. Despite stretching and rest, a doctor may just have to fix the root of the problem for optimal results.
Sure, a magic pill that could cure your injury would be better. But, they don't exist in medicine, and they don't exist in legal administration.
Q&A for a Modern Law Firm
What does a legal administrator do?
Why shouldn’t I just hire a full time legal administrator?
My law firm is unique, only I can run it effectively.
I can’t do all the marketing, finance and human resources. How quickly can you help?
I would like to retire and sell my firm. Can you help me become marketable?
I can't have a remote administrator, they have to be in the office.
I have a CIO, CMO and a CFO. I’m too busy with all of their projects. Maybe I can hire a legal administrator in 6-12 months.
What does a typical plan for our firm look like?
